Delete Account and Data

This page explains how to delete your Pin Your Plate account and the associated data. Under Art. 17 GDPR, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time ("right to be forgotten").

Option 1: Delete from within the app (recommended)

If you still have the app installed, this is the fastest way:

Open the app and sign in
Tap your Profile
Open Settings
Select Delete account
Confirm

Your account and the associated data will then be deleted as specified in the table below.

Option 2: Delete by email

If you no longer have the app installed or cannot use the in-app option, send an email to support@pinyourplate.app.

Important: Please send the request from the email address used to register the account, or include your username (with tag, e.g. @username#1234). This allows us to verify your identity and locate your account.

We will confirm receipt of your request promptly and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Which data will be deleted?

The following data will be removed from our active systems when your account is deleted:

Data category	Status after deletion
Account and profile data (email, username, profile picture, UID)	deleted
Pins you created, including photos and notes	deleted
Meetups, invitations	deleted
Friendships, followers, blocks	deleted
Achievements and progress	deleted
Push notification tokens	deleted
Analytics events	within 14 months (Firebase default)
Crash and performance data	within 90 days (Firebase default)

Which data is retained for legal reasons?

We are legally required or permitted to retain certain data for a limited time. Such data is not used for any other purpose and will be permanently deleted after the retention period ends.

Note on in-app purchases

Active subscriptions or one-time purchases (e.g. "Founder Pack", "Premium Pack") are managed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Deleting your Pin Your Plate account does not automatically cancel ongoing subscriptions and does not trigger a refund. Please manage subscriptions and request refunds directly via Apple or Google:
